The Philosophy Of Containers 0: The longest piece "Neptune's Last Tear" changes so many time from mood, without much of a recurrent theme, that it sounds as a collection of short pieces without unity. The band has been touring extensively in Europe, but North America will be new territory for them. What amazes about "Terra Serranum" is its simplicity and the resulting overall, hallucinating effect.

The biggest bet for the band was again the creation of three epic pieces, all were over 12 minutes long, and these tracks only proove how talented this group was. I preferred though their debut album to this one: Such label stalwarts as Mark Wingfield, Markus Reuter, Asaf Sirkis, Tony Levin, Dusan Jevtovic, Vasil Hadzimanov, and many more have gathered in various combinations at the studio to produce some of the most creative music in recent years.

Overall, their sound now seems to occupy a space somewhere between what might be likened to a neo-prog answer to Pink Floyd not far from Serranm, maybe and sort of a nasal new-agey vocal approach. Starting in the 80s, his work took an increasingly avant-garde turn.

Original, imaginative, dreamy, atmospheric, intricate music, which deserves a high recommendation. The most interesting tracks are the longer ones especially the title track where the musicians are given the space to build on different themes, each blending ever so smoothly into one another. Composition-wise eend seems like fairly elementary stuff, but the band does a good job of arranging — guitarist Francisco Neto adds some nice solos throughout, and bassist Fred Hunter doubles up on Mellotron and synths.

Best parts of this album are the instrumental ones.

This album is probably less personal than "Pacific Coast Highway". For Reasons Unknown 5: Still, it is one of the most interesting songs. And since you never change a winning team, the mood will be very similar on "Terra Serranum". serrranum
